...The International Coffee Trade Show - June 7-10, São Paulo, Brazil.

Coffee in Brazil is an increasingly promising sector, growing at 15%–20% per year, and as a result Brazil Trade Shows (BTS), the largest promoter of trade shows for the food and beverage industries in Latin America, has decided to invest in an exclusive event only about coffee. Espaço Café Brasil, previously a regular annual component of Fispal Food Service, is now a separate event – the International Coffee Trade Show, covering the whole coffee industry production chain. It will be held simultaneously with Fispal 2010, on June 7–10, at Expo Center Norte, São Paulo. The show will offer presentations, technical courses and business round tables, as well as a competition for coffee professionals – the “Brazil Coffee Barista Cup” (Copa Barista). Brazil Trade Shows CEO Marco Antonio Mastrandonakis comments: “It was a natural process of growth, which we expected since this project began, five years ago. The target now is to cover not only food service, but also planting, harvesting, processing, roasting, packaging and logistics, as well as the retail and export markets”. Caio Alonso Fontes, partner and planning director of Café Editora, organizer of Espaço Café Brasil, believes the expansion is necessary to meet the demand for products and services. “Brazilians are rediscovering the habit and the pleasure of drinking coffee, since the beans offered by the retail market are of increasingly good quality and the food service sector is investing in new products and presentations”.
The 5th Espaço Café Brasil – International Coffee Trade Show – aims to promote the market for quality coffees, from the producer, through the roaster and barista to the final consumer. Last year, Espaço Café Brasil brought together 60 brands and attracted 15,000 visitors from Brazil and more than 40 countries, generating an estimated US$12 million in new business.
