… STARTS FROM VENDING.
271 exhibitors coming from 14 countries all over the world, 20,000 square metres of exhibition space, around 20,000 visitors, increasing last year’s edition by 8%, in spite of the recession, about a hundred accredited journalists, including 20 from other countries. The 7th edition of Venditalia closes its doors behind about 20 thousand visitors and a frenetic business fervour. A picture between past and future Vending was drawn up during the four days of the world’s major automatic distribution trade fair. A great selection of innovations were exhibited at the fair, not to mention the automatic distributors with piping hot pizzas and pasta dishes, fresh fruit juices, snacks of all kinds, including the healthy biological ones, ginseng flavoured coffee and hot beverages with all sorts of sophisticated flavours. The eco-friendly distributors reducing the volume of cans and bottles, encouraging selective waste collection, innovative cashless systems or state-of-the-art mobile modular paying systems, distributors screening all sorts of information (weather, TV news, advertising and videos of all kinds) interfacing with the consumer by touch screen all aroused interest. The display of machines that were milestones in the sector’s history took you back to the past. Quite a few companies brought along old original automatic distributors with them to the fair, all very well known, some never to be forgotten. “We are very satisfied with this result and I wish to publicly thank all those people working behind the scenes of this immense organizational machine. – declared Marco Monaco, the Venditalia chairman – Innovation was the underlying theme to this venue, which effectively demonstrated how businesses are reacting to the crisis by producing new high quality ideas, both as far as machines as well as automatically distributed products are concerned. As a matter of fact, we were expecting it, but we were even amazed by the high standard of the products, and let me say, also by the beautifully presented stands. If Venditalia is a window onto this sector’s future then we cannot be anything else but optimistic. This event highlighted a great innovative entrepreneurial spirit. Notwithstanding the negative economic trend many exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the business contacts made, confirming Venditalia as an extraordinary platform for promoting business, contacts with the market and a true and proper meeting point between worldwide supply and demand. Naturally we are waiting to see you again at the next edition scheduled from 9 to 12 May 2012.” “The frenetic business atmosphere at the fair – concluded Lucio Pinetti, chairman of Confida, Italian Automatic Distribution Association, member of CONFCOMMERCIO Imprese per l’Italia (a general Italian confederation for businesses and trade) – makes us certain that recovery is now just round the corner. Our sector is in close contact with the end consumer, 90% of its machines are installed in work places, and it is therefore an unfailing carbon copy of the country’s state of wellbeing. We immediately registered the effects of the recession but now we feel we are right in saying that recovery is effectively knocking at the door. Our sector will certainly be showing signs of a great leap forward and an unmistakeably innovative fervour, due to the absolutely positive atmosphere reigning at the fair. We therefore believe that recovery in this sector is approaching and we even dare to foretell that we will be one of the first sectors in Italy to launch ourselves out again. In a word, there will be an economic recovery in Italy, starting right from Vending.” www.venditalia.it
